Join a 2 day virtual workshop with Dr. Michelle Engblom-Deglmann, LMFT and Frankie Lemmons, LMHC (WA), Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (OR). This training is beneficial for mental health clinicians, students, and associates who have ever thought about opening a private practice, or have a private practice.
This training is ideal for:
Graduate students and associates who are curious about private practice
Early-career clinicians ready to launch
Established therapists who want to restructure, raise fees, or realign their practice with their values
The workshop is offered at three price points:
$500 for Licensed Professionals
$400 for Associate/Masters level unlicensed professionals
$300 for currently enrolled students
We offer one free slot for a therapist or student from a marginalized community. Please contact us to request this discount.
If these dates don’t work for you but you're interested in the training, let us know! We’ll add you to our list so you’ll be the first to hear about future sessions.
When you picture private practice, you might feel a mix of excitement and dread. One minute you’re dreaming about flexibility and freedom; the next, you’re frozen wondering:
Where do I even start?
What if I mess up the legal or money parts?
Can I really make this work as a single earner / parent / associate / student?
We see you. And we don’t want you to do this alone. This training is an invitation to take the next step with support—where we walk alongside you, help you build what you're envisioning, and create a practice that feels like yours, not a carbon copy of someone else's.
We genuinely care about you as an individual, not just you as a therapist. Dr. Michelle will guide you through self-of-the-therapist exploration to help you fight imposter syndrome and find your authentic voice in the process of creating a business that works for you.
We will include first hand knowledge (and bumps along the way) that we have gained from our experiences, provide sample clinical forms, and everything you need to get started.
Basic needs to get started: EIN, email, phone, marketing, and more.
Difference between Sole Proprietor, LLC, and S-corp.
All things money: budgeting, taxes, insurance, and setting your fees to match your value.
Clinical forms, client notes and identifying your ideal client.
A written launch (or re-launch) plan that maps out your next steps clearly
Multiple guided worksheets and exercises to help you design a practice that fits your goals.
Sample language for documents, intake forms, boundaries, fees, and communication (adaptable to your practice)
A clearer understanding of the money landscape—fees, insurance vs private pay, budgeting essentials, and how to make aligned financial choices moving forward
Tools to support confidence, clarity, and sustainability in how you show up as a business owner
Community connections with other therapists building practices with intention
